Phluxel tutorials

Short, practical guides for animating pixel art with rules instead of frames. Every one uses a rule that ships with the app, so you can follow along in the browser demo without installing anything.

New to Phluxel?

The short version: you paint a pixel grid, write a one-line rule, and the rule animates your artwork in real time on the GPU. There is no effects layer — the simulation runs on the pixels you painted, which is why a fire rule can read the embers you drew and a rain rule can fall behind your objects.

The full reference lives in the Phlux language docs, and the app ships with 65 rule templates and 62 one-click starters if you would rather begin from something that already moves.
