Starry Night

Stars swirl over rolling hills under a bright moon.

Nature & Scenery · a keyframed frame animation, painted programmatically · 96×96 grid

Starry Night — animated pixel art loop generated in Phluxel
Every frame above was generated by the simulation, not drawn by hand.

How this one is built

This scene is a keyframed frame animation rather than a live rule: each frame is painted into the timeline, so the loop is exact and repeatable. Phluxel does both — rules that simulate, and timelines that play back what you painted — and you can stack a rule on top of a timeline to add fire or rain over painted motion.

Make it yourself

  1. Open Phluxel and start a new field, or click Starry Night in the starter gallery to get this exact setup.
  2. Leave Wrap edges off — this one is meant to have real borders.
  3. Press play. Change colours or numbers while it runs; you never have to stop and restart.
  4. Export a seamless loop as GIF, APNG, MP4, a PNG sequence, or a sprite sheet.

Try it without installing anything

Phluxel runs in the browser as a demo, and the free desktop edition has every feature with a watermark on exports.
